A second zone in Miami, Florida, that includes a section of Miami Beach, has been identified as an area of possible local transmission of Zika infection. This zone is in addition to the first zone reported at the end of July, 2016, that includes a neighborhood in Miami, Florida. The CDC subsequently posted advice for pregnant women and their partners recommending that they avoid travel to these particular areas in Miami.
As more information comes out nearly every day, the CDC continues to update data and resources for Zika on their “What’s New” website.
