The Council on Patient Safety in Women’s Health Care has announced the 5th cycle of the Council’s National Improvement Challenge

The Council on Patient Safety in Women’s Health Care has announced the 5th cycle of the Council’s National Improvement Challenge – Combination Project: Reduction of Peripartum Racial/Ethnic Disparities + Any Other Clinical Patient Safety Bundle.

Awards: Four awards will be given.  First place award will include $3,000, two paid registrations to a national meeting of a selected clinical professional organization, and the opportunity to present project on a Safety Action Series teleconference.

Eligibility: NIC is now open to ANY individual or team in the United  States; not limited to educational programs. Health systems are encouraged to submit a joint project across programs.

The objectives of this challenge are listed below:

  • To encourage patient safety and quality improvement projects related to peripartum racial/ethnic disparities in any clinical area covered by a bundle.
  • To increase widespread implementation of the Reduction of Peripartum Racial/Ethnic Disparities Patient Safety Bundle in conjunction with other bundles.
  • To foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, patient safety, and communication between clinicians and patients to promote the Council’s mission: safe health care for every woman.

To participate, you must submit your declaration of intent by March 15, 2019.

Your full application with a project narrative for the challenge must be submitted by June 14, 2019.
