The Council on Patient Safety in Women’s Health Care has announced the 5th cycle of the Council’s National Improvement Challenge – Combination Project: Reduction of Peripartum Racial/Ethnic Disparities + Any Other Clinical Patient Safety Bundle.
Awards: Four awards will be given. First place award will include $3,000, two paid registrations to a national meeting of a selected clinical professional organization, and the opportunity to present project on a Safety Action Series teleconference.
Eligibility: NIC is now open to ANY individual or team in the United States; not limited to educational programs. Health systems are encouraged to submit a joint project across programs.
The objectives of this challenge are listed below:
- To encourage patient safety and quality improvement projects related to peripartum racial/ethnic disparities in any clinical area covered by a bundle.
- To increase widespread implementation of the Reduction of Peripartum Racial/Ethnic Disparities Patient Safety Bundle in conjunction with other bundles.
- To foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, patient safety, and communication between clinicians and patients to promote the Council’s mission: safe health care for every woman.
To participate, you must submit your declaration of intent by March 15, 2019.
Your full application with a project narrative for the challenge must be submitted by June 14, 2019.
