Announcing an awesome training opportunity! The joint Take Control Initiative and UCSF Bixby Center contraceptive training have been rescheduled and reformatted to virtual! And, they will still provide that much needed CME at no cost.

Friday, June 12th – Standard contraceptive training. Virtual all day. CME provided. This training provides the crucial foundational information on all birth control methods, including IUDs and implants, and contraceptive patient-centered counseling basics. THIS IS THE TRAINING THAT MEETS TCI CLINIC PARTNER INCENTIVES FOR STAFF ATTENDANCE.

Friday, June 19th – Advanced contraceptive training. Virtual all day. CME provided. This training builds on the knowledge acquired from the June 12th standard contraceptive training. The training provides a deep dive into best practice patient-centered contraceptive counseling practices incorporating reproductive justice, implicit bias, and cultural humility. There will also be scientific concepts applied to case studies. A possible exciting addition will be the didactic portion of the standard and advanced clinical practicum.

Please register at the link below and see the attached brochure for more information. ALL staff and community partners that have gone through either Focus Forward or UCSF Bixby Center training previously (UCSF Bixby partnered with TCI in 2018 to conduct two foundational contraception training…the title was Beyond the Pill).
