Infant mortality has decreased over time.1 However, temporal trends and disparities in specific causes of death have not been recently examined.

This cross-sectional study used infant mortality rates from CDC WONDER, including 1999-2017 bridged-race data and 2018-2022 single-race data.1 As the project did not meet the Office of Extramural Research definition of human participants research, institutional review board approval and informed consent were not required. This study followed STROBE reporting guidelines.
