Register Now: Addressing COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy: Pregnant Individuals & Other Vulnerable Populations

Overview
Though much progress has been made since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, health care workers must still manage new cases, new variants, and new information. This four-module course will address vaccine hesitancy among vulnerable populations, with an emphasis on pregnant and recently pregnant individuals, and the strategies health care professionals can implement to address these issues.

Learner Outcomes
At the conclusion of this educational presentation, the participant will be able to:

  1. Define key terms related to COVID-19 vaccine (vaccine hesitancy, vaccine confidence, vaccine uptake).
  2. Recognize individuals and communities who are at higher risk for COVID-19.
  3. Identify possible reasons behind lack of vaccine confidence and lower vaccine uptake among specific high-risk communities (i.e. communities of color, pregnant individuals, individuals planning to become pregnant).
  4. Relate factors, including those related to the COVID-19 pandemic, that put individuals at greater risk for anxiety and depression during and after pregnancy.
  5. Describe prevention and intervention approaches to help individuals cope with anxiety and depression during and after pregnancy.
  6. Review strategies a provider can implement to reach high risk and vulnerable communities to improve vaccine confidence.
