Purpose & Scope
The purpose of the program is to encourage members of AWHONN’s Oklahoma Section to pursue baccalaureate degrees and other higher degrees in nursing or an area with a demonstrated application to women’s health, obstetric, or neonatal nursing.
Cash scholarships are awarded annually. The number and dollar amount of scholarships awarded each year may vary depending upon a vote of AWHONN Oklahoma Section leadership. The minimum scholarship amount is $500.
An individual may not receive two scholarships for the same level of education however; a qualified person may apply for a new scholarship if pursuing a higher level of education. Award recipients are eligible for subsequent scholarships but not in successive years.
