Buprenorphine better for neonates than methadone

A study published in New England Journal of Medicine found that buprenorphine use in pregnancy was associated with a lower risk of adverse neonatal outcomes than methadone use. Both treatments were associated with a similar risk for adverse maternal outcomes.
