Join PSI in a 2-class web CME series designed to teach providers to screen, assess, treat, or refer perinatal mental health disorders. Available live or recorded. Presented by perinatal psychiatry experts Catherine Birndorf, MD and Chris Raines, RN MSN APRN-BC.

The PSI Frontline Provider training covers the following topics:

  • Recognizing the different presentations of Perinatal Mental Health Disorders
  • Screening Tools for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders
  • How to make an accurate diagnosis
  • Psychopharmacological treatments including during Pregnancy and Lactation
  • Evidence based non pharmacological treatments
  • Case Studies

The training, provided by PSI’s experts Chris Raines RN MSN APRN-BC and Catherine Birndorf MD, is designed to equip frontline providers with the skills necessary to assess patients for perinatal mental health complications and, as appropriate, provide treatment or connect individuals with additional resources and care.  Providers completing the training will receive CMEs, CNEs or CEs. The webinar course includes a post-test after each class, that must be passed by 80% minimum before taking the next class.

Continuing Education Credits:

CMEs: This Enduring Material activity, Perinatal Mental Health Training for Frontline Providers, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 4.50 Prescribed credit(s) by the American Academy of Family Physicians. AAFP certification begins 08/01/2019. Term of approval is for one year from this date. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
CNEs: Perinatal Mental Health Training for Frontline Providers (OCEAN ID #2018-5) has received OCEAN approval for 4.50 contact hours.
