This webinar\, free and open to all\, will help participants improve how they care for women with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.Speakers will outline how maternity care providers can establish an environment and infrastructure that facilitates detection\, assessment\, and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. \nUpon completion of the webinar\, participants will be able to: \n1.Describe the care pathway components that need to be followed when addressing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.\n2.Outline how to evaluate illness severity including intrusive thoughts and risk of harm to self or others.\n3.Describe the risks of treated versus untreated perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and evidence-based non-pharmacologic options.\n4.Describe when pharmacotherapy is indicated\, how to select and initiate medication treatment\, and how to adjust that treatment as needed based on patient response.\nIn order to obtain CME credit\, each participant must individually register for the webinar\, sign in to view it\, and complete a brief post-webinar quiz.\nFollowing the live presentation\, the webinar will be archived on ACOG’s Depression and Postpartum Depression webpage for convenient viewing. DESCRIPTION:1-day Training Course \n$ FREE (via a contract with the Oklahoma State Department of Health) \n7.5 CEUs \nAgenda \nThis class teaches health care staff current information and skills to support breastfeeding mothers and their children\, particularly during the prenatal and early postpartum periods. The class utilizes various modes of learning\, including hands on activities\, videos\, small group work\, equipment demonstration\, etc. Class participants will be evaluated for basic breastfeeding competencies and receive 7.5 nursing contact hours.
