DESCRIPTION:Please join us for Resident’s Day at the Capitol sponsored by the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG)\, Oklahoma Section. We will gather at 8:30 AM for a light breakfast and an issues briefing by ACOG lobbyist Jan Loftis. Jan will give us an overview of pending legislation at the State Capitol and provide talking points for attendees to use when visiting with their state legislators. Then\, we’ll head to the Capitol for direct lobbying and one-on-one visits with Oklahoma legislators. \nAt noon\, we’ll head back to the OSMA offices for lunch. We’ll also have an informative presentation by ACOG National government affairs expert Katherine Moore on critical issues of importance at the Federal level and why advocacy is important to the medical profession. DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this is to better prepare physicians and medical students to identify individuals with opioid use disorders and to engage those patients in medication-assisted treatment for their opioid use disorder. \nThe course will be a total of 8 hours of in-person lecture\, which will cover all medications and treatments for opioid use disorder\, and provides the required education needed to obtain the waiver to prescribe buprenorphine. \nLunch is not provided. A one-hour lunch break is planned to allow participants to dine off campus or order food for delivery to the building.
