SUMMARY:8th Annual Becoming Baby-Friendly in Oklahoma Summit
DESCRIPTION:The goal of this summit is to provide expert speakers to discuss subjects related to process to become and remain a Baby-Friendly Designated Hospital. The Baby-Friendly Hospital Designation is an international recognition earned by hospitals who have implemented policies and practices supportive of breastfeeding. Hospitals designated as Baby-Friendly have demonstrated best practice in the care of mothers and newborns & improved breastfeeding rates. Becoming Baby-Friendly in Oklahoma (BBFOK) is a statewide effort to help hospitals improve maternity care and increase the number of Baby-Friendly hospitals in Oklahoma. (CNE credits pending) \nThe first 10 Oklahoma hospitals to have employees register\, attend and evaluate the Summit will qualify for an education stipend for the OBRC 15 hour online training (provided all breastfeeding data sent to OBRC is up to date). \n\nOklahoma hospitals participating in OBRC’s BBFOK Program will be eligible to enroll 8 staff.\nOklahoma hospitals that are not participating in OBRC’s BBFOK Program will be eligible to enroll 4 staff.
