DESCRIPTION:Why HIGH RISK OB ECHO?\n\nHigh Risk OB ECHO provides education\, training and consultation utilizing the Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) model to support the State Maternal Health Innovation Program.\nFor the past 18 years in the state of Oklahoma\, an average of 11 women died of complications related to pregnancy every year.\nNationally\, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)\, 700 women die every year related to a pregnancy or from delivery complications.\nMost maternal deaths happen before or soon after the mother has given birth\, usually within a few weeks or months postpartum.\nAccording to March of Dimes\, 41 out of 77 counties in Oklahoma are classified as maternity care deserts with no birthing hospital and no obstetrician- gynecologist or certified nurse midwife to provide care.\n\nSchedule\nFirst and Third Thursdays of every month\, 12(Noon) to 1pm Central Time. DESCRIPTION:The AAP is excited to announce that the Maternal-Infant Health and Opioid Use ECHO have joined together to form a collaborative that aims to support pediatric practices in their implementation of clinical interventions to improve the health outcomes of infants and families affected by prenatal opioid use. Pediatric practices interested in developing sustainable patient- and family-centered approaches to treatment and support for infants with prenatal opioid exposure are encouraged to apply. Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is an innovative telementoring program designed to create virtual communities of learners by connecting experts with primary care teams in local communities\, fostering an“all teach\, all learn” approach. This ECHO will incorporate quality improvement work and will meet monthly from October 2020 through April 2021. The opportunity to participate is open to all pediatric practices. DESCRIPTION:Why HIGH RISK OB ECHO?\n\nHigh Risk OB ECHO provides education\, training and consultation utilizing the Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) model to support the State Maternal Health Innovation Program.\nFor the past 18 years in the state of Oklahoma\, an average of 11 women died of complications related to pregnancy every year.\nNationally\, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)\, 700 women die every year related to a pregnancy or from delivery complications.\nMost maternal deaths happen before or soon after the mother has given birth\, usually within a few weeks or months postpartum.\nAccording to March of Dimes\, 41 out of 77 counties in Oklahoma are classified as maternity care deserts with no birthing hospital and no obstetrician- gynecologist or certified nurse midwife to provide care.\n\nSchedule\nFirst and Third Thursdays of every month\, 12(Noon) to 1pm Central Time.
